Fixing the thread is a mandatory step at the beginning and the end of the embroidery with a single thread. It allows you to place the thread in the work firmly and avoid loosening afterwards, but using the right method will create a beautiful wrong side.
There are many different options for fixing the thread:
1-st way
Fold the thread twice. Pry a few threads of the base and pass the needle under them, without bringing the thread to the end. Insert the needle into the loop and tighten. If this section will be sewn up in the future, then you can make a pin and on the front side.
2-nd way
Fold the thread twice. Insert the needle into one of the cells of the future cross, without pulling it out completely. Slide the needle into the loop and tighten. Then you can perform a second stitch and close the cross.
3-rd way
Insert the needle in one of the corners of the future cross from the front side to the wrong side, and then in the opposite direction through several squares in the opposite corner of the other cross. Sew a few crosses or half-crosses in the direction of the first insertion of the needle, and then cut the tip as close to the canvas as possible.
4-th way
Run the needle under a few earlier sew stitches on the wrong side and bring the needle to the front side. Broaching can only be done under threads of similar shades. Similarly, you can fix the thread at the end of the embroidery.
